Unloopy is a digital wellbeing app that helps you limit distracting apps using usage limits, schedules, and time-saved insights.

1. App Usage & Blocking Data
To provide distraction-blocking functionality, we collect:
- App Usage Statistics: How long each app is used.
- App Identifiers (Package Names): The specific apps you choose to block (required to enforce your blocking rules).
- Session Metadata: Session start and end times, durations, and whether a session was blocked.
- Blocking Events: When an app was blocked based on your configured limits or schedules.
- Time Saved Metrics: Calculated time saved due to blocking.
This data is used strictly for enforcing your settings and displaying usage insights.
2. Technical Data
We collect limited technical information to improve performance:
- Device information (e.g., model, Android version)
- App performance and crash logs
Collected through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
This technical data is anonymous and used only for diagnostics.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to:
- Enforce your configured blocking schedules and usage limits
- Display usage insights, app sessions, and time-saved metrics
- Detect when a blocked app is opened and redirect you to the block screen
- Improve app reliability and troubleshoot issues
- Backup schedules and session metadata for reinstalls
We do NOT use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
Sensitive Permission Disclosures (Required by Google)
Unloopy uses several Android permissions essential for its core functionality.
We do not use these permissions to collect sensitive personal content.
Usage Access Permission
Used only to:
- Read app usage durations
- Identify which app is in use
- Enforce your configured app limits
- Generate your usage insights
We do not read in-app content, messages, browsing data, or personal information.
Accessibility Service
Used only to:
- Detect when a blocked app is opened
- Immediately redirect you to the Unloopy block screen
We do not:
- Read text typed on your device
- Read notifications, conversations, or content
- Capture screens
- Collect or transmit any sensitive information
Foreground Service
Used only so Unloopy can:
- Enforce blocking rules in real time
- Continue functioning when running in the background
It does not collect any additional data.
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
All usage data and blocking configurations are stored securely on your device.
Firebase Cloud Storage
We sync only the following to Firebase:
- Blocking schedules
- Blocking attempts
- Session metadata: app identifiers (package names), session timestamps, durations, and block events
This allows backup and analytics for reinstalls.
We do not store:
- In-app actions
- Personal content
- Messages, photos, browsing data, or credentials
- User names, email addresses, or phone numbers
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for:
- Anonymous performance metrics
- Crash diagnostics
These contain no personal identifiers and cannot be linked back to you.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties.
The only external service we use is:
- Firebase (Google) for cloud backup, analytics, and crash reporting
Firebase's processing is covered under Google's Privacy Policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request Data Deletion: You can request deletion of your cloud-synced Unloopy data by emailing us at hello@unloopy.com. We will guide you through verifying your data and complete the deletion within 14 days.
- Disable specific permissions at any time through device settings
- Contact us with any privacy questions or concerns
Children's Privacy
Unloopy is intended for users aged 13 and above.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
The "Last updated" date will reflect the latest revisions.
